Traditionally known as the “village pharmacy”, the Neem tree’s pesticidal and medicinal properties have been known and used for centuries in India.

A natural oil from the Neem Tree which has wonderful properties not least of which is the ability to annihilate many serious skin conditions.

Applying a cream containing neem oil topically has been used for centuries to reduce inflammation. A compound called sodium nimbinate found in neem leaves has been shown to provide significant relief to inflamed tissue.

Other compounds such as nimbin, nimbinin and nimbidol are comparable to cortisone acetate in reducing inflammation.

In one test with hydrocortisone, neem extract (sodium nimbinate) and several natural saponins neem was over four times more effective at reducing inflammation than hydrocortisone and more effective than the other agents tested.

Neem seed oil is very bitter with a garlic/sulphur smell and contains vitamin E and other essential amino acids. Neem oil’s highly concentrated anti-microbial active ingredients can be used directly on cuts, scrapes or serious skin conditions. The concentrated essential fatty acids help to restore moisture and elasticity to the skin while it disinfects and heals. Neem oil is a natural vegetable oil.

Neem’s antiseptic and healing properties make it an excellent first aid for minor cuts and abrasions. Neem has also been shown to be an excellent wound healer. Neem has the ability to increase vascular permeability by increasing the blood flow and by helping the body to rapidly create collagen fibers to close wounds. Healing will be significantly accelerated and scarring reduced by using neem to protect the injured skin.
