Unlike many conventional fly sprays, our formula contains no DEET, no permethrin, no pyrethrins, and no synthetic insecticides. Instead, we rely on botanically derived ingredients that horse owners have trusted for generations.

Directions

SHAKE WELL vigorously for at least 10 seconds before each use. Spray evenly over the horse's coat while avoiding the eyes, nostrils, mouth, and other sensitive areas. Brush thoroughly into coat for an even better coverage and a healthier coat.

Because this product relies on natural plant oils rather than synthetic insecticides, reapply as needed, especially after heavy sweating, rain, bathing, or prolonged turnout.

For best results, apply liberally and reapply every 2–4 hours or after sweating/swimming, especially in high fly-pressure conditions. As a natural, non-DEET formula, this product is designed to repel rather than instantly eliminate flies on contact, some insects may still land briefly before being deterred.

Store in a cool dry area.

Returns

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Unopened products may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund. Products must be unused and in their original packaging.

Due to the nature of insect repellents, effectiveness can vary based on environmental factors outside our control — fly/insect pressure, application method, frequency of reapplication, weather, and coat/moisture conditions at time of use. Because of this, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds based on perceived effectiveness once a product has been opened or used.

Returns for insect repellent products follow our standard policy: unused, unopened, original packaging, within 30 days — or a verified manufacturing defect.

Due to the nature of grooming products, opened or partially used bottles cannot be returned unless the item arrived damaged, was shipped in error, or has a verified manufacturing defect.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include photos of the product and packaging so we can resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions before purchasing, we're always happy to help. Contact us at admin@sitstayforever.com, and we'll be glad to assist you.

Does this really work without chemicals?

Yes. Our formula uses a carefully selected blend of plant oils traditionally used to help repel flies and other biting insects. Since it contains no synthetic insecticides, more frequent application may be needed during periods of heavy insect pressure.

Is it safe for everyday use?

Yes. The formula is designed for regular use using organically sourced botanical ingredients.
Why should I brush in the spray instead of just spraying it on?

Working the spray in with a brush and rag gives you a two-in-one benefit. The neem oil and MCT oil repel insects on contact, but rubbing them into the coat ensures the oils actually reach the skin. This turns your fly spray routine into a conditioning treatment that improves overall skin and coat health with every application.

Does it contain DEET or permethrin?

No. Our Horse Fly Spray contains no DEET, permethrin, pyrethrins, or synthetic insecticides.

What insects does it help repel?

Horse flies, deer flies, stable flies, house flies, mosquitoes, gnats, and ticks.

Will it leave my horse greasy?

No. The lightweight botanical oils are designed to distribute evenly through the coat without leaving a heavy residue when used as directed.

Where is it made?

Every bottle is handcrafted by Sit Stay Forever in Westbrook, Maine.
