What makes your products different from most pet products on the market?

Our products are made with organic, natural, and sustainably sourced materials, designed to support the long-term health of pets, people, and the planet. We prioritize chemical safety, durability, and comfort over mass-produced shortcuts._

Are your products non-toxic and safe for pets?

Yes. Safety is our top priority. We avoid harsh chemicals, flame retardants, synthetic fragrances, and unnecessary additives commonly found in conventional pet products. Our materials are chosen to be safe for daily contact, including pets that lick, chew, or have sensitive skin.

Where are your products made?

Our products are designed and crafted in Portland, Maine, USA, items are handmade in small batches. 

Do you use organic materials?

Whenever possible, yes. We use organic cotton, natural fibers, and plant-based ingredients in our beds, grooming products, and wellness items. Any non-organic materials are selected for safety, durability, and low environmental impact.  We also use Oeko-Tex certified Polartec fleece for our beds.

Why do your products cost more than big-box alternatives?

We focus on quality, safety, and longevity, not disposability. Our pricing reflects:

Are your grooming and wellness products safe for sensitive pets?

Yes. Our grooming products are formulated with gentle, skin-supportive ingredients, making them suitable for pets with allergies, sensitive skin, or chemical sensitivities. We always recommend spot-testing when introducing any new product.

Do your beds contain flame retardants or chemical treatments?

No. We do not use chemical flame retardants, stain guards, or artificial coatings commonly found in mass-produced pet beds. 

What is your return policy?

You can return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We’ll even cover the return shipping costs if the return is due to our error (for example, if you received an incorrect or defective item).

If you'd like to exchange your bed for a different size or color, return the unused clean bed to:

Place a new order and we'll ship your new bed to you. Please note that returns due to sizing or color changes will require you to cover the return shipping costs.

Return Process:

For returns due to sizing, color choice, the bed must be unused and clean. Once we receive the bed and inspect it for wear, damage, and cleanliness, we will process your refund.

Please reach out to us with your order number and the details of the product you wish to return. We will quickly provide you with instructions on how to proceed with your return.

Refund Processing:

After you’ve shipped your return, please allow up to four weeks to receive your refund. In many cases, your refund may be processed more quickly. This time frame includes:

Transit time for the return (5 to 10 business days)
Processing time once we receive the return (3 to 5 business days)
Bank processing time for the refund (5 to 10 business days)

How do I care for and clean your products? 

All our beds are designed for easy care, with removable covers or washable materials.  Wash cool / dry low heat.  Specific care instructions are included on each product page to help extend the life of your purchase.|

Are your products environmentally friendly?

Yes. Sustainability is central to our mission. We aim to reduce waste, choose renewable materials, and design products that don’t need to be replaced frequently—better for your pet and better for the planet.

Who started Sit Stay Forever and why?

Sit Stay Forever was founded in 2012 by a lifelong animal lover with a background in science and environmental studies, after struggling to find pet products that met higher standards for chemical safety, sustainability, and comfort. While it isn’t always possible to scientifically prove the role toxic chemicals may play in pet health issues, we believe eliminating unnecessary exposure is a responsible choice. That’s why we create organic, chemically safe products—designed to reduce worry and support the well-being of pets, people, and the planet.
